Trust Life’s Timing

When Life Reminds You to Slow Down

I was in the middle of feeling overwhelmed when it happened. I was colouring a picture from my journaling Bible and thought ‘There’s so much detail to cover! I’ll never get this all colored today.’ And in that quiet, anxious moment, a clip of my unfinished life played in my mind, like a highlight reel of everything I thought I should have already done.

And then, a voice gently whispered:

“Like in your own life, you believe you need to accomplish everything today — trust My timing.”

It stopped me in my tracks.

How often do we live as though we’re racing an invisible clock? Rushing to build the dream, start the business, find the perfect relationship, or somehow “arrive” at a destination we can’t even define. We pile the weight of our future on our present, convinced that if we don’t do it all right now, we’ll fall behind.

But life isn’t a sprint to the finish line. It unfolds in seasons, with each chapter serving a purpose — even the ones that feel slow or incomplete. What if the things we’re waiting for are ripening at the perfect pace? What if the delays and detours are shaping us in ways we can’t yet see?

Trusting life’s timing means releasing control. It means honoring the progress you make, even if it’s small, and believing that what’s meant for you won’t pass you by. It’s a reminder that some of the most beautiful things in life — healing, growth, and dreams realized — can’t be rushed.

So if you’re feeling like you should be further along, take a breath. You are not late. You are not failing. You are exactly where you need to be. And just like a masterpiece takes time to create, your life is coming together piece by piece, in perfect time.

Trust the process. Trust the timing. Trust that even now, everything is unfolding as it should.
